I agree with the statement because its true that our government only represents the rich and well connected rather than the poor and needy, our government rarely looks out for the poor. Instead of giving tax breaks to the poor, our government makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. Well, its obvious that the government is going to h elp out the rich first because they are the ones that help them get elected and once there in office they feel obligated to pay them back however they can and without thinking about anyone but their own well being. One good example that our government represents the privileged few rather than the needy many were in the 2000 presidential elections. If George W. Bush had not been the son of a former president and the brother of the governor of Florida, there is no way he would be our president. Since former presidents get to know a lot of people and help many of them when they need help it is often given to them by the people they helped in the past. I think the laws should be changed so that everyone has an equal opportunity of achieving success, regardless of how much money they have or whom they know and instead it should be on the basis of how capable they are of the job and their level of knowledge, this wa ...
